Dr Francis Wiafe-Amoako

Dr. Francis Wiafe-Amoako holds a Ph.D. in African Studies from Howard University in Washington DC. He also holds an MA in Political Science (International Relations and Comparative Politics) from SUNY Binghamton in New York and an MA in Political Science (Public Policy and Administration) from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. His teaching career have span the fields of International relations and security, international development, peace negotiations, comparative political institutions, African Government and politics, and politics of the global south. His research focuses on Human Security, International development, and Institutional challenges in Africa. He currently has authored two books. The first was on Human Security and Post-conflict reconstruction in Sierra-Leone, and the other (which he co-authored with the late renowned scholar Prof. Ali A. Mazrui) was on institutional challenges in Africa. He is also the editor of the Africa Section of the World Today Series, an annual publication by Rowman and Littlefield Publishers. He is currently the director of the Center.
